Boston Indian Kitchen is a fast-casual, family-friendly Indian restaurant located right on Mass Ave. The cozy, modern interior and menu featuring a modern twist to traditional Indian cuisine is a welcome addition to Boston’s Back Bay. The menu, though not as extensive as most other Indian restaurants, has freshly-baked naan bread, organic salads, grilled tandoori chicken and daily curry specials. Good portion sizes and select “family styles” entrees allow for easy sharing between family.

family-friendly restaurant tip Boston Indian Kitchen has counter service, so place your order at the counter and snag a table while you wait for your number to be called.

KidTude:
Luke Warm. They have only a couple highchairs, so call in advance to check for availability. The bathroom is located in the basement with steep steps being the only route there (no elevator or ramp). They do not have a changing table, but the single unisex bathroom is large and clean.

Main Menu:
This family-friendly Indian restaurant’s offers a mix of traditional Indian food and a more modern take with their “Naanz” – sandwich wrapped with naan. The more traditional tandoori chicken entrees are very moist and there is no beating freshly baked naan to order.

  • Chicken Vindaloo
  • Tandori Chicken Naanz

family-friendly restaurant tip Boston Indian Kitchen serves beer and wine

Kid’s Menu:
There is no kids menu and the lack of ability to customize entrees might pose a challenge for picky palates. The food arrives fast and the “Naanz” sandwiches allow for an easy to-go option as far as Indian food goes.

family-friendly restaurant tip The restaurant does offer a tomatoes and mozzarella roll-up, a veggie roll-up and chocolate chip cookies for those kids not as excited about authentic Indian tastes.

family-friendly restaurant tip Check out Boston Indian Kitchen’s kheer (i.e. rice pudding), a sweet treat that is a great way to introduce some exotic flavors to kids
