This new-ish entry to the South Shore dining entourage fills a much needed gap for quality dining in a friendly and open environment. Crow’s Landing, in the location of the old Jack’s Cafe at the base of Crow Point on 3A, is a fresh take on comfort food and has menu options for every palate.  The kid-friendly Hingham restaurant’s dining room is open and welcoming, with room for smaller parties and a lively bar area to meet friends.

family-friendly restaurant tipCrows Landing has a combination of booths and tables. The booths all seat 4 except for one 6 seater – the tables can sit between 2 and 4 and be pushed together to accommodate larger parties. Because it is popular, it can be useful to call ahead and see how long the wait is (especially when you’re in a party over 4) to be sure there will be adequate seating ready.

Pretty good.  They have the standard seating arrangements for kids, and crayons on the table if requested.  We haven’t found a changing table there yet – so you may be using the floor or your car for any diaper disasters.

family-friendly restaurant tipLeave the strollers at home – Crow’s Landing is not a large place, that warm and cozy feeling comes at a price so it’s better to just bring the kids in with minimal gear.

The menu! The menu is good at this kid-friendly hingham restaurant.  There are options for everyone, including an array of salads, sandwiches and entrees to meet your culinary demands.  Daily specials are a great addition at Crow’s Landing, ranging from $2 sliders (Monday), $0.25 chicken wings (Tuesday), $1 Oysters (Wednesday), $12 pasta night (Thursday) and $4 grilled cheese (Sunday).  They pour a good cocktail here as well, so feel free to enjoy a Crow Point Cup along with your Balsamic Caramel Roasted Chicken.

Favorites include:

  • The Chopped Everything Salad (major crowd pleaser – light and tasty!)
  • Fish and Chips/Fish Sandwich
  • Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese
  • Smoky Eggplant and Hummus Plate

family-friendly restaurant tip Go ahead and splurge on Crow’s Landing’s fries and wings…guilt free! There’s no fryolator at this kid-friendly hingham restaurant–the kitchen churns out all the taste of fried favorites without the oil, courtesy of a specialized oven.

Kid’s Menu:

If there is anything at Crow’s Landing that truly excels, it’s the kid’s menu.  Kid’s entrees come with a choice of 3 things – a protein, a side and a fruit and vegetable.  You can mix and match from items such as meatballs, crispy fish, mac and cheese, baked fries, apple slices and carrots. The portion sizes are nice and well presented – this is not your average kid’s meal!
