Creative sushi from Sapporo

Sapporo Korean BBQ & Sushi is a little nugget of deliciousness located in a strip of businesses in Westborough. This family-friendly metro west restaurant offers authentic Korean cuisine and some of the freshest, creative sushi this side of Route 9. It’s a casual restaurant that includes a very popular small bar for catching a game on TV or a game of Keno. Hosts are quick to seat you and while there’s almost always a good crowd, you don’t often have to wait. Make reservations to avoid a long wait.

Great. The hosts and the servers are welcoming at this family-friendly metro west restaurant. Families with chatty kids can choose to sit in the section of the dining room close to the bar/TV where the additional noise level can work to your advantage. There are no booths and most of the restaurant is setup in a bench/table combination.

family-friendly restaurant tip Some tables near the buffet setup during dinner service have more space for a stroller. Staff can also help you store your stroller if you don’t need it.

Main Menu:

Dolsot Bibim Bap

The menu has a little something for everyone. If Korean is your thing, don’t miss the Dolsot Bibim Bap where you can substitute chicken or tofu for the more traditional beef. The sushi is always fresh, and the rolls are creative. Note that at least 2 people at the table must be ordering Korean BBQ to use a BBQ table. Did we mention the bar? Great mixed drink specialties including a fantastic pina colada. Sapparo has a small dessert menu but there are some tasty choices including a waffle with red bean and vanilla ice cream.

family-friendly restaurant tip Can’t decide? Try Sapporo’s lunch buffet Tuesday through Friday, 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM including incredibly fresh sushi rolls and fruit for $11.99.

family-friendly restaurant tip Take a peek above the sushi bar for specials on full bottles of wine.

Kid’s Menu:

This family-friendly metro west restaurant offers a creative kid’s menu with three options for little ones to choose from: Fried Dumplings with sweet potato tempura and salad/ranch dressing; Chicken Fingers with sweet potato tempura and salad/ranch dressing; and Bulgogi: Thinly sliced beef that has been marinated in a Korean-style soy marinade with rice. Sapparo also offers a good selection of beverages including juices, milk, and a Shirley Temple. Kids Meals: $6 to $8 (not including drinks).

family-friendly restaurant tip
Don’t feel constrained by the kid’s menu. You’ll likely find something on the regular menu and the sushi menu your kids will enjoy. A bowl of fresh cut-up avocado and a cup of rice? No problem! Sapporo is happy to accommodate younger tastes when possible.

Getting There:

Sapporo is only one mile from Route 9 (Route 30 exit). Traffic can be heavy at rush hour times (weeknights from 4-7 PM) the block or two before the restaurant but almost always consistently moves. Allow an extra 5 or 10 minutes during those times.
