While most New Yorkers know their way around a Shake Shack, many Bostonians are still discovering this hip, roadside burger joint. With its grand opening back in the Spring of 2013, lines snaked around the building for hours as people waited to see what the fuss was all about. Several months later, we can say for certain Shake Shack is a great restaurant for kids and definitely worth fussing over.
Shake Shack is counter-service, so you will need to place your order with the cashier first and find an empty table after you place your order. Signs suggest you wait to find a table until after your order has arrived – which everyone seems to ignore and is not convenient if you have kids antsy to sit.
While the lines are not as painfully long as they once were, Shake Shack is still a popular destination. Plan on arriving on the early side to avoid long lines to order or to snag a table. Or if you plan on just getting frozen custard or drinks, go to the c-line!
Excellent. This is a restaurant for kids with plenty of highchairs, stroller parking and enough distractions (TVs) to keep kids occupied.
Shake Shack’s menu items are limited to burgers, fries, flat-top hot dogs and frozen custard. People come to Shake Shack to indulge, so don’t expect to find many healthy options. Burgers are made of 100% all-natural Angus beef and cooked to medium unless otherwise requested. Fries are hand cut (replacing the old crinkle-cut version) and cooked to perfection. Frozen custard is made on the premises and available as shakes, cups or concretes (think Dairy Queen Blizzard).

- Shack Attack Concrete
There is no kids menu at Shake Shack, but this menu is universally kid-friendly. Burgers are slightly larger than a slider, so a good size for a hungry kid.
