Tucked away from the bustle of the touristy main streets of the North End is Tenoch Mexican, an affordable Mexican restaurant serving authentic Mexican street food. This cozy, kid-friendly North End restaurant has been silencing neighborhood purists since it first opened with its critically acclaimed tortas, a popular Mexican pressed sandwich. Today, Tenoch is a welcome addition to the North End, with another location in Medford, a food truck and a soon-to-be-opened spot in Davis Square.

Okay. This kid-friendly North End restaurant is small with limited seating that is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is one highchair available for the whole restaurant and unfortunately no changing table in their one, small unisex bathroom. 20150522_152150~2

family-friendly restaurant tip Tenoch is counter-service, so you will need to place your order with the cashier first and find an empty table after you place your order.

Main Menu:
The restaurant offers the usual Mexican fare such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos and enchiladas. All of those come in different varieties that may include meat or vegetables. Tenoch’s tortas (Mexican pressed sandwiches) are the main attraction. Tortas are stuffed with seasoned meats, cheese and avocado and include house-made salsas for extra flavor. Tenoch also offers daily specials that include fresh corn tamales.

family-friendly restaurant tip The restaurant’s Mexican sodas and rice drink (called Horchata) are a fun treat to drink with your dinner.
